POSE KIT DECO
If you have arrived here, it means you are the proud owner of a new decal kit.
⚡ Quick express guide to install your decal kit
Before you start, here are the 3 golden rules:
-
Cleaning & degreasing → Your plastics must be clean and thoroughly degreased. ⚠️ Never use WD-40 or equivalent, it prevents the glue from adhering.
-
Apply without strong pressure → Position your sticker by pressing gently at first. You can peel it off and stick it back 5 to 10 times without problem as long as you haven't pressed too hard. If you press too early, you risk deforming it when repositioning.
-
Press hard only at the end → When everything is well placed and you are sure of the result, only then press very hard (like a beast 💪) to seal the kit permanently.
🔥 Heat tip: if the decal kit is too stiff or there are tensions on some edges, heat it slightly (hairdryer or heat gun). Ideally, install your kit in a room at ambient temperature (avoid cold ❄️ because the stickers become hard). In the sun ☀️, it's perfect: the stickers are more flexible and easier to apply.

⚡ Complete tutorial to install your decal kit
Installing a kit requires time, precision, and a bit of patience. But nothing too complicated, you just need to be careful to achieve a great result.
Settle in a bright and clean space, equip yourself with a cleaning product, a degreasing product, a microfiber cloth, a hairdryer or heat gun, your vehicle, and your decal kit.

You are all set for the installation! Here are the steps to follow to maximize the lifespan of your kit:
STEP 1: CLEANING & DEGREASING OF PLASTICS
⚠️ Warning : do not use WD-40 or any equivalent product! These products leave a greasy film that completely prevents the decoration kit from adhering properly.
This is one of the most important parts of the process. It's time to pamper your machine. Grab your cleaning product, your cloth, and clean all the plastics thoroughly (not just the parts where the kit will be applied, I'm watching you) 😏).
The plastics should look like new!
PS: Ideally, you should apply your kit on new plastics. If that's not the case, make sure your plastics are not scratched and clean them well.
Second part of this step: DEGREASING
We recommend using a good quality brake cleaner. Don't hesitate to use a good amount. The more there is, the better! Soak your cloth in the product, apply it over the entire surface of the plastics insisting on the edges and recessed areas.
Your plastics must become dull, it means they are well degreased and your decoration kit will last a long time.
⚠️ Warning : do not use WD-40 or any equivalent product! These products leave a greasy film that completely prevents the decoration kit from adhering properly.

STEP 2: APPLYING THE DECORATION KIT
Let's start with an easy part to get the hang of it. Grab a front plate and the corresponding sticker (these plates are often flat and make a good exercise before tackling the more difficult parts).
Before peeling the sticker off the backing paper, check that it matches the plate! Test the alignments and positioning.

Two techniques are available to you:
- You can use painter's tape to hold the sticker (still with the backing paper) on the plate. This will allow you to peel off the sticker little by little while keeping it well positioned.
- You can also peel off a small part of the backing paper, apply it to the plate, then peel off more to stick the rest of the sticker.

⚠️ Important : never remove the sticker from the backing paper all at once! You risk damaging the adhesive with your fingers or dust particles.

Make sure to always start by sticking the middle of the sticker and work outward to remove air. If air is trapped under your sticker, gently peel it off to remove it. If that's not possible, use a needle to make small holes to let the air escape.
When the sticker becomes too rigid or needs to be bent to fit an edge, you can start using heat (with a hairdryer or heat gun). The heat will activate the glue, soften it, and eliminate the air channels inside it.

👉 Do not press too hard immediately! Too much pressure activates the glue and, in case of misplacement, you risk deforming the sticker, especially when peeling it off to reposition it. At first, press only gently to hold it in place and adjust it calmly.
You can stick and peel off the part you are placing 5 to 10 times without any problem, as long as you follow these precautions. If you press too hard too early, you risk damaging the sticker when trying to peel it off.
Once you are sure of the placement and satisfied with the result, only then can you press very hard to properly seal the adhesive — like a beast 💪 because at this stage, you should no longer try to peel it off.

STEP 3: POST-HEATING
To increase the stickers' adhesion, simply warm the edges and tension areas. Don't forget to press firmly on the area after heating it.
STEP 4: ADMIRE THE RESULT
Take a few minutes to admire your work. Grab your phone, capture your best shots, and share them on your social networks by tagging us: decomotos_fr. You can also send them to us in a private message, our teams will be happy to share them again.
STEP 5: WAIT AT LEAST 24 HOURS
It is important to wait 24 to 48 hours before using your motorcycle to allow the glue to properly bond to the plastic. Make sure your motorcycle is stored in a dry place at room temperature (if it's too cold, it may shrink).
The stickers may shrink a little bit in the days following application. This is completely normal.
If this caused the decal kit to lift in some areas, press again on the affected spots and don't hesitate to warm them up slightly.
